Published: 11-08-2016 K.Waller-Jarrett Fat is a lesser valued endocrine organ. It often gets overlooked by many as having little value to the body other than insulative padding. It is often regarded with much disdain connected, with negative responses and opinions that it must be banished, that fat is ‘our enemy’, that it is an unattractive, unwanted bodily characteristic which can bring shame on us and result in psychological issues. There is obviously no doubt carrying too much bodily fat around our midriffs can lead to unwanted health effects, but we seem hell bent on wanting to eradicate all traces of it, as it can morph us into shapes we find undesirable, but do ever take the time to appreciate what it is? It plays such an important role in the body’s homeostasis, in it’s internal balance and ultimately our well-being. Click right to read more |

Adipoctye Apoptosis versus Adipocyte 'Resetting' ?
Published: 27-05-2016 K.Waller-Jarrett

Today in the world of body contouring everybody seems set on pressing the default switch which says death to fat cells, whether this is by physically removing them through lipoplasty or creating adipocyte apoptosis. Is it always the right thing to do? Do we need to take time out to pause about whether this is in the long term interest of our patients? Fat is an endocrine organ, and maybe we should be working with it to affect real change rather than deliver a quick fix which can result in compensatory fat being laid down where we don't want it?

The Importance of Ghrelin and Leptin in Influencing Weight Loss; how Verju laser light therapy can play a significant role in improving metabolic profiles
Published: 07-05-2016 K.Waller
Ghrelin and leptin have such a big role to play in controlling our appetite and waist bands. These 2 hormones play such a crucial role with mood and hunger. Ghrelin is the hunger hormone and leptin stops appetite. If you could influence the action of these 2 hormones there is the potential to lose and stabilise weight.
A trial is currently being put together at Southampton Hospital by weight loss surgeon James Bryne and radiologist Rob Allison, to evaluate a new revolutionary key hole procedure to block the production of the hunger hormone ghrelin. A catheter is inserted via the groin to reach the celiac artery which feeds an area at the top of the stomach called the fundus. This is where 90 - 95% of ghrelin is produced. Tiny plastic balls called embospheres are released through the catheter, and they block the tiny arteries to the fundus which in turn blocks the production of ghrelin. Reduced ghrelin levels equals reduced hunger pangs. This new technique has been shown in an early -stage clinical trial to result in significant weight loss in obese patients. 7 patients lost 21 lbs on average within 6 months....................................................

The Erchonia Verju 532nm Green Body Contouring Laser is to be launched to the UK aesthetic market at Aesthetic Medicine Live 2016 6-7th February, Olympia. This is the first time the Verju will make a public appearance in the UK, after making it's debut in the US in 2014. Bodylase Medical Ltd aim to market this powerful low level laser technology to practitioners who are serious about body contouring and overall health of their clients. What happens intrinsically is just as important as what can be seen extrinsically.
The Verju delivers 25% more power than it's predecessor the Zerona. The green photon by a process of photochemistry is readily absorbed by fat cells without the need for great power, to create a transitory pore in the cell's membrane to allow emulsified fatty contents to be slowly liberated out and safely removed by natural detoxificaion processes. Fat cells are left like emptied balloons, but are effectively reprogrammed to start behaving like heathier, leaner adipocytes to rebalance hormone and glycaemic levels. In this way not only are you able to effectively contour stubborn lumps and bumps, smooth out cellulite, but you can help to get your patient healthier. The Verju is for the serious minded practitioner. A green photon has more energy than a red photon, so does this mean that the new Verju green beam laser will deliver better results than other body contouring lasers?

Is it even possible – a true reduction in cellulite, and a true reduction in troublesome fat deposits with measurable losses of inches, via a simple, completely non-invasive, 100% painless, convenient office treatment? The short answer is yes! The long answer should start with a very brief review of how this all came about.
The Zerona is a medical device that came into public use about 5 years ago. It is a low level laser therapy (LLLT) device which uses a familiar red colored (635 nm) surface laser – a so-called “cold” laser – that generates no heat and no burning as it shines on the skin’s surface (i.e., completely non-invasive and completely painless). Yet, the laser light energy passes harmlessly through the skin and is absorbed by the fat cells just underneath, “tricking” them into melting themselves! Based on over 15+ years of research and 20+ peer reviewed medical journal articles....... Zerona and Verju Clinic Trial Results July 2015

After photograph taken 5 weeks after a course of 9 Verju treatments. The deep abdominal crease has gone and the lower stomach lax skin is visibly tighter.
I have always made it a point of ‘testing’ with my staff any new piece of equipment or product which comes into Compleet Aesthetic Body and Face Clinic. We recently invested in the first generation Zerona low level laser and its newer more powerful offspring the Verju, making us one of only 2 clinics to offer this revolutionary treatment in the UK. These lasers are to complement our 3D Lipomed Body Contouring system for the treatments of diet and exercise resistant stubborn fat and cellulite.
I felt I was the right candidate to road test what I have dubbed the ‘Fat Lase’ lasers. I am typical of many women of my age; menopausal, busy life, bearing the unforgiving ravages of having children, and not a slave to dieting or being tea total! My arthritic right knee prevents me doing high impact gym work. I personally have issues with my stomach.................... |
Erchonia Receives 7th FDA Market Clearance for Non Invasive Fat Lossby admin | Tue, 09/06/2015 - 9:00am
New once a week protocol allows for more treatment flexibility McKinney, TX- June 2, 2015- Erchonia announces today that they have received their 7th 510(k) market clearance and the 2nd in 2015 from the US FDA for non-invasive fat loss which is measured by circumference reduction. Erchonia has also been published 20 times in journals and text books with our patented laser processes. Erchonia has been researching fat loss since 1998 and has performed several level 1 blinded and controlled clinical trials on circumference reduction. “We have more 510(k) market clearances on non-invasive fat loss than all other companies combined” stated Steven Shanks President of Erchonia Corp. The new study was performed on 54 subjects who participated in a once a week treatment for (6) weeks; the results showed that patients continued to see a reduction 2 weeks post treatment which is believed to be due to the process of fat metabolism. What this study demonstrated was that patients with a 25 to 40 BMI should expect to lose 6 inches from their waist, hips, thighs, and upper abdomen.......................................... |
The Zerona has been proven to release about 2.0 littres of fat which is approximately 12,600 calories. Think how much more the Verju could release!!
To burn off this amount you would have to:
-Play tennis for 21 hours in one go! -Swim for 40 hours in one go! -Jog for 17 hours in one go! |
